How has COVID-19 affected your nonprofit?
Dear Colleague,
Our lives and communities have not looked the same since March. As an industry, nonprofits have weathered funding challenges, adapted to new safety guidelines, and most of all continued serving our communities.
You’ve been brave, determined, creative, and resilient. You are also stretched and concerned for the future as usual sources of revenue are unavailable and reserves dwindle.
The state needs nonprofits more each day. And with Congress debating a relief package, government budgets are feeling the strain. To get the support we need, we must continue to communicate how vital nonprofits are to our future. In this moment, our stories matter more than ever.
The National Council of Nonprofits asked you to share your story with them back in March and April, and those stories went further than anyone imagined, being featured in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal and prompting needed relief for nonprofits across the country.

By lifting your voice to tell your story, you provided important real-world perspectives that, among other things, gave needed leverage for the House and Senate to pass a partial fix for nonprofits that self-insure for unemployment by unanimous consent last month.
– National Council of Nonprofits
But our stories in Washington didn’t end in April. Now more than ever, decision makers need to hear from nonprofits. They need to hear from you. Please, take a minute to share your story today.
We don’t do this work alone. By sharing our stories, we ensure that our voices are heard.
