Join us for an engaging and practical training session: Building Strong Boards in Rural Communities: Recruitment & Engagement Strategies for Nonprofits. Rural nonprofits are the lifeblood of their communities, yet they often face unique challenges when it comes to building and sustaining effective boards. This interactive Q&A-style presentation dives deep into the realities of rural board recruitment—exploring why traditional approaches may fall short and how to tap into the rich, often overlooked leadership potential within small communities. Learn how to redefine what makes a “qualified” board member and discover creative strategies for identifying and inspiring new leaders.

Whether you’re a seasoned nonprofit professional or just beginning your board journey, this session offers actionable insights tailored to resource-limited settings. From low-cost engagement tactics and mentorship ideas to leveraging technology for connection and cohesion, you’ll walk away with tools to strengthen your board and deepen its impact. Let’s rethink board building together—rooted in relationships, trust, and the unique strengths of rural communities.
