Nonprofit Fundamentals: Boards, Finance, Legal. Empower your board to take action.

Event Details

Build a solid foundation for your organization through the Nonprofit Fundamentals Series. Strengthen your board’s performance, decision-making, and ability to take action. Through the Nonprofit Fundamentals Series, you have access to guides, activities, checklists, samples, reflection questions, and more that you can use immediately with your board and nonprofit. Register for the series and attend the following workshops.

Part 1 – Boards in Gear: Wednesday, February 21, 9:00-1:00pm PT

Topics covered include: board responsibilities, board operations, composition and development, fundraising, and advocacy.

Part 2 – Finance Unlocked for Nonprofits: Wednesday, March 20, 9:00-1:00pm PT

Topics covered include: balance sheet, income statement, IRS Form 990, giving, and oversight.

Part 3 – Let’s Go Legal: Wednesday, April 17, 9:00-1:00pm PT

Topics covered include: state law, federal law, fundraising, employment law, and intellectual property.

Register for the series by February 19 to sign up for all three workshops in Stanwood. Snacks will be provided at each session.

Important Information About COVID 19

To ensure the health and safety of attendees at our in-person events, NAWA will follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health authorities regarding infectious diseases such as COVID-19. These regulations may change rapidly, so please check current government guidelines for the event location before attending. Please do not attend an in-person event if you feel sick or are showing symptoms known to be associated with COVID-19 or another infectious disease. We ask attendees who test positive within a week of the event to contact us so that we may notify other participants of a potential exposure. NAWA will keep the identity of the person testing positive confidential. NAWA will provide masks at all in-person events and anyone attending should feel comfortable requesting or wearing one.

Cost

These workshop is free, thanks to the the support of our partners, the Washington Office of the Secretary of State and the Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation.

This ticket is for all three workshops. If you will not attend all three workshops, please register for the individual event. 

Accessibility

Interpretation: Please indicate during registration if you have an interpretation request. Typically, we need at least two weeks in order to schedule an interpreter.

Visual Descriptions: Presenters will include visual descriptions of themselves and the slides to give a person who is low-vision or blind a sense of space and place.
