Goodbye, Twitter

If you’re not entrenched in the latest in the social media wars, you might have missed the changes in Twitter since CEO Elon Musk took over last fall. This change in leadership led to significant increases in hate speech.

As part of our commitment to revolutionize nonprofits’ place in our state and world, Nonprofit Association of Washington is committed to be a champion and a leader in the quest for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the nonprofit sector. For us, this means using a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens in all the work we do, including our communication platforms.

The folks at Equity in the Center said it best, but we’ll echo it here. We won’t be a part of a platform that allows for racist, anti-Semitic, and hate speech.

Thank you to those who connected with us on Twitter, and we invite you to connect with us on FacebookLinkedIn, or Instagram to see the latest in nonprofit news, learning opportunities, and important policy updates.
