Finance Unlocked for Nonprofits

Event Details

Friday, April 25, 2025
10:00AM – 2:00PM PT
Sue Lombard Hall
Ellensburg, WA

We each have our own experiences with finance that may stir up excitement, mixed feelings, or uneasiness. These feelings can shape how we approach our relationship to nonprofit finance. Approaching nonprofit finance in a welcoming way, the Finance Unlocked for Nonprofits workshop aims to help unlock your financial literacy. From key words and forms to understanding how everything fits together, you will increase your basic nonprofit finance knowledge.

The workshop will cover:
  1. Balance sheet
  2. Income statement
  3. IRS Form 990
  4. Giving
  5. Oversight

A light lunch will be provided.

The most valuable thing was to review the basics and to allow me to get a feel for what I do know and what I don’t know. It was helpful to confirm that many of the things that I am currently doing are correct.

About the Speakers

Bob Bowman, CPA, Partner, Larson Gross Advisors

I joined the Larson Gross Audit & Assurance practice in 2024, bringing nearly 25 years of public accounting experience to the team at both a national CPA firm and a large local CPA firm in Seattle. I enjoy being a trusted advisor to clients across many industries including technology, life sciences, hospitality, professional services, and manufacturing, as well as private schools and other types of nonprofit organizations and various types of employee benefit plans.

I oversee all aspects of financial attest engagements for my clients. While adept at tackling technical accounting and auditing issues, I also work collaboratively with clients, building relationships and ensuring their total service experience with the firm not only meets, but exceeds expectations.

I am a licensed CPA and a member of the AICPA and WSCPA, and also a proud Coug having obtained my business degree in accounting from Washington State University and currently serve on the Accounting Advisory Board and National Board of Advisors of the Carson College of Business at WSU.

Outside of work you’ll find me watching my favorite Seattle and WSU sports teams — on TV or live in person, golfing, and enjoying bar trivia, whiskey and wine tasting, and traveling (we have several international locations on our bucket list) with my wife.

Juleen Snyder

Molly Honcoop, CPA, Senior Accountant, Larson Gross Advisors

Molly graduated from Whitworth University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and joined Larson Gross in 2017. From the onset of her career, she has worked within the agribusiness industry and nonprofit organizations, serving businesses and business owners with their tax preparation and planning needs.

In addition to understanding the unique nuances of ag and nonprofit tax, Molly also has experience in financial statement preparation. She helps business owners and directors use financial statements as a tool to get a picture of how their business is performing currently and how it performed historically to prepare for the future.

When Molly isn’t working with nonprofit organizations or farmers, she enjoys traveling and exploring, as well as reading a good book!
