​In fiscal year 2022 alone, 26 different federal agencies awarded over 56,000 grants to charitable organizations. Does your nonprofit know how to take advantage of these funding opportunities?

Join us for this introductory session on federal grants, where we will share how to search for federal funding sources and review best practices in federal grants management.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Illustrate how to search for and identify sources of federal awards through the grants.gov website.
  2. Introduce the steps needed to apply for federal awards through the grants.gov website.
  3. Summarize the Uniform Guidance that governs federal grants policies, and common pitfalls to avoid.
  4. Describe grants management policies and procedures that your nonprofit will need to have in place in order to effectively implement, report, and closeout a federal award.

This session will be recorded. The recording and materials will be sent to participants after the event.

About the Speaker

​Donna Melville is a manager at YPTC. She has over 30 years experience including time as an auditor for KPMG Australia. She has also served as the CFO of a behavioral health agency in Washington state and the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis with a social services agency that operates across Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.
