About the Speaker
Brandi Painter
Brandi is a mental health counselor and professional consultant who specializes in treating trauma and supporting organizations to effectively apply trauma-informed principals to their work. Prior to becoming a mental health counselor, Brandi spent over two decades in the nonprofit sector working in organizations dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as individuals and families experiencing poverty and homelessness. During the course of Brandi’s career, she has designed and implemented trauma-informed standards of care, including operational policies, for organizations ranging in size from less than 30 employees to more than 400 staff members. She has delivered training and education on stress, trauma, neurobiology, and resilience to hundreds of professionals including social workers, educators, community advocates, and healthcare professionals and provided one-on-one support to organizational leaders to effectively implement trauma-informed practices across their department or division.
